5 Things I Have Learnt In My 20s

Hey Guys, it’s my last year in my 20s and I would like to share with you  5 things I have learnt in my 20s. It has been a long journey with a lot of huge life-changing experience. We all have imagined, dreamt of how exciting and fun life as a young adult would be like. However, life is just life and unfortunately, it has a different route planned out for you. So here are 5 things I have learnt in my 20s.

Life is a battlefield but can be a paradise

Life is a journey. Everyone is on a different journey. Sometimes the things you want in 5 years time, may not come to path no matter how hard you work at it. Sometimes the people you meet will eventually become your enemies. It’s Life.

Relationships

When it comes to relationships, it’s better to start off as friends with the intention of building a strong and healthy relationship with your partner. That way you learning more about each other, creating a strong foundation that is enough to start a relationship.

Friendships

Let’s be clear friends are individuals who have similar interests and hobbies and decide to build a friendship based on that. However, what we don’t seems to realise that we are still growing and our interests and hobbies will change along the way. That’s when I feel things go wrong. For example, a group of friends like to play basketball, then one day a person out of the group decided that he/she prefers to attend a ballet class. Two different things but the same person. We fail to understand and be open-minded about each other lifestyle. So, therefore, you will find out that the group will collapse and they will be each other enemies.

Education and Careers

As long as you are fit and healthy, you can achieve anything. Life has a way to make things extremely difficult to get you where you want to be. Education is very important. Its the road that leads to having a successful career. We all have a dream to become somebody in the future. They only way you get that is through education. Whatever life throws at you, as long as you are breathing, you can achieve anything.

Save! Save! Save!

When you hear people talk about savings, you will automatically think finance. Although it’s very important you save your money, I am not talking about it. I am talking about saving your energy, your love, your time for all the positive things that life can give you. Remove yourself from any negativity. Life is so short and precious. Do not waste it.

Remove yourself from any negativity. Yes, as you get older the more it applies. To have few friends but of great quality are cherished. This applies to material things too. It’s a great thing that you’ve learn early so you can do better life decisions. Good read here.

I like your last lesson the best 🙂 I think in hindsight I would have gotten much more sleep while I could and not wasted so much time out late…but that’s maybe a lesson for the 30s – hahaha!

Great points! I especially love the one about saving for all of the positive things life can give us and removing ourselves from negativity. 😀

All of your points are great ones and you are fortunate you’ve learned them early in life. As I’m sure the knowledge you have gained will influence any decisions or steps you make moving forward.
