I’m Returning To College

I’m Returning To College. Hey everyone, I hope you are well. In today’s post, I am excited to share that I am officially returning to college in August 2021. I am super happy, and I even cried when I got the email regarding an offer. You have no idea how arduous this journey has been. If you follow my journey in previous posts, such as The End of An Era, you will understand.

I’m Returning To College

Why Have I decided to go back?

The simple answer is It’s Now or Never! Next week, my mum is leaving the UK, which means I will be here alone with my daughter. Companies are closing down, so there will not be many day jobs in town. Not for now anyway. If I try to apply next year, that means I am 4 years behind. Plus, I’m not getting younger, and I want to give my daughter and myself a better future. It is a risk I am taking as the coronavirus seems to be affecting more students all last year. I am hoping we do a blended learning schedule where I can study online safely at home.

What course?

So I applied for HNC (Higher National Certificate) Administration and Information Technology in college. If you read a previous post, I spoke about getting into college for HND (Higher National Diploma) Administration and Information Technology back in 2019. Still, I had to drop out and get a job due to financial issues. I was very heartbroken and felt like I had let my daughter down or ruined her future.

Luckily I had a well-paid job to help support my little family. I did have plans to go to college in 2020, but then Covid-19 happened. So this year, I decided to re-apply and in hopes, I get accepted. Will you look at that – I got in!

Feelings?

I started this journey way back in 2006 when I finished Secondary School and went to college to study Administration because I wanted to work in an office environment. However, due to life circumstances, I couldn’t move on to complete the course. The course lecturer told me that I would never progress through the Higher National level based on my results. That broke my heart; there are no words to explain how I felt.

Despite everything, I decided not to give up and fight hard. I went back and forth to college, studying everything and anything I get my hands on. And now, finally, I’m in! I can see myself in my graduation gown and on stage collecting my Diploma in 2023, and wow, it’s a fantastic feeling already. You all pray for me, I’m going in, and I’m not coming out without my Diploma.

If there’s any tools or resources out there that I can use to help me through, of which you may know, please let me know. I need all the support that I can get.

I hope you enjoyed that.

Talk soon.
