Meet Life Coach Shinese M Collins. Hey everyone, I hope you are well. Let me introduce you to Shinese M Collins in today’s post. Shinese is a Life Coach for women, an author and an influential speaker. She also supports her family as a wife and a mother by working full-time. How does she do it? I feel this is something I can relate to from my previous post, Life as a single mum, student, working part-time, and blogging. I was excited to learn more about her and her business.
Meet Life Coach Shinese M Collins
Hello Shinese, it is a pleasure to interview you. What inspired you to become a Life Coach and Influential Speaker?
I have been coaching in the corporate setting for many years. I am passionate about helping others recognise their true potential and walk in it. I decided to expand my reach, which made me a certified coach and started my business as an influential speaker after publishing my book Resilient on Purpose. I began to get speaking engagements from churches and women’s associations.
What is your Method and Style of Coaching?
I like to develop a know, like, and trust relationship with my clients. My coaching style is transformational and democratic. Meaning I help my clients with accountability, self-discovery, and development. I also provide motivation, empowerment, and commitment to objectives.
When do you think it is the right time to hire a Life coach?
I think it’s the right time to work with a life coach when you need clarity, need help developing clear and achievable goals, want to build your confidence, need to crush your inner critic, and so much more. In a nutshell, it is time to work with a life coach when you want to achieve more with your personal and professional growth.
You also have a YouTube channel. Please share the track and what you hope to achieve from it.
My YouTube channel includes content about leadership, confidence, resilience, motivation, and more. I am also open to content suggestions for my channel.
What challenges do you have as a Mom and a Wife and running a successful business?
As a mom and a wife, I must make sacrifices while running a successful business. There are things I cannot participate in or assignments I must pass on to be with my family. I need to be active in my daughter’s life while providing her with a vision to pursue her wildest dreams and succeed on her terms.
How do you stay motivated in your business?
I use positive affirmations to stay motivated in my business. I reflect on how I improved my clients’ lives because of working with me. I remind myself that I was given my knowledge, skills, and gifts to share with others and not be self-serving. My mantra is positivity breeds resilience, and resilience breeds character.
What do you do for self-care?
I believe that self-care is non-negotiable. What I do for self-care varies, but it sometimes includes taking a drive with no planned destination, taking a walk on a beautiful day, cuddling up on the couch, watching mindless television, reading a book, and listening to motivational podcasts/videos.
I am sure some aspiring Influential Speakers and Coaches are reading this. What advice would you give them?
Be your authentic self. Do what works for you, and do not try to be like someone else. Share your story. There may be thousands of other speakers and coaches, but they cannot tell your story and share your experiences the way you can. Focus on your uniqueness, and do not compare yourself to others in the industry.
Can you advise the audience on supporting each other during the Global Pandemic?
Now more than ever, it is essential to stay connected. Social distance does not mean isolation. We must still call, text, send cards, pray for, pray with, use video chats and drive by someone’s home to remind them that they are loved and appreciated.
Last but not least, do you have any questions for me?
Have you ever worked with a life coach? Why did you feel it was the right time to expand your blog to include interviews with other entrepreneurs?
My Response:
I had not worked with a Life Coach before. One reason I love blogging is that it explores new opportunities that I never knew existed. It is my second year of blogging, and I have learned much from other bloggers.
Personally, reaching out to entrepreneurs was a way to come out of my comfort zone and gain confidence in speaking to others. Expanding my blog is a reflection of my personal growth as well. I am currently starting a new business venture, and the one thing I have learnt about life is to surround myself with people who successfully do what I want to do. That’s the only way you will learn quickly.
I write a lot about empowering women through life, and I thought it would be great to share an interview with real-life entrepreneurs to inspire my audience. It is also a way to support women who are small business owners, and I noticed many small business and women entrepreneurs have worked hard and may need support, particularly during the Pandemic.
I want to say a massive Thank You to Shinese for taking the time to participate in the interview with me. I wish her all the best for the future.
I hope you enjoyed that post.
