Bedtime Routine Single Mum and Student Style

Bedtime Routine Single Mum and Student Style. Hey everyone, I hope you are well. In today’s post, I will be sharing a bedtime routine for single mums and student style. I recently wrote A Day in My Life as a Single Mum and Student. So I thought, why not do a nighttime one? As a single mom and student, Life can be overwhelming. With a never-ending list of responsibilities, finding time for self-care can feel impossible. However, a peaceful and tranquil bedtime routine can be the key to maintaining balance and achieving a good night’s rest. After a long day, I would love to have a magic wand that puts me in my pyjamas and then straight to bed as soon as I walk into my house. However, being a single mum, it’s not as easy as that.

Set The Tone

Creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere is essential for a successful bedtime routine. Start by dimming the lights and lighting candles or using essential oils. Play soothing music or nature sounds to create a peaceful environment. Take a few deep breaths and let go of the day’s stressors. This sets the tone for a restful night’s sleep.

So Sasha’s Bedtime is 8 pm; in that case, the bedtime routine starts at 4 pm (depending on what’s for dinner and when we get home from a long day).

  • Sasha is playing around while I am making a quick dinner.
  • After dinner at 6 pm, Sasha goes in the bath while I tidy up the table and check on her occasionally.
  • After bathing, Sasha takes an hour and a half to chill out, have some snacks, and then brush her teeth.
  • And then at 8 pm, straight to bed.

Sometimes  Sasha sleeps early while lying down on the sofas then I will put her to bed. My mother advised me to make sure Sasha was well-fed before she slept. That way, she will sleep all night.

Cleanse and Nourish

Before climbing into bed, take time to cleanse your face and body. This step removes the day’s dirt and grime and prepares the body for relaxation. Use gentle and natural skin care products that nourish and hydrate the skin. After cleansing, drink a glass of water or herbal tea to hydrate and soothe the body.

Unwind And Relax

Now it’s time to unwind and relax. Set aside electronics and pick up a book or journal. This quiet activity helps the mind unwind and detach from the day’s stressors. Practising meditation or yoga can also promote relaxation and calming the mind.

While Sasha is in ‘dreamland:

  • I have a quick shower
  • Do some Catching up with studies
  • Then Bedtime at 10 pm. I usually try to be in bed by 10 pm at the latest.
  • But first, make sure the doors and windows are locked.

Prepare For Tomorrow

To avoid the stress of the morning rush, take a few moments to prepare for the next day. Lay out clothes, pack bags, and organize any necessary items. This small step can alleviate stress and make the morning routine more smooth.

Get Comfy

Now that you’ve finished your bedtime routine, it’s time to climb into bed. Ensure that your sleeping environment is comfortable and conducive to rest. One of the best investments you can make for your health and well-being is high-quality bedding. Not only can it promote better sleep, but it can also improve your overall comfort and relaxation. Additionally, consider investing in one of Australias Top Mattresses for even better sleep quality and support. Your body will thank you for the investment in better sleep and comfort. Avoid using electronics in bed and consider wearing an eye mask and earplugs to block distractions. Remember, a good night’s sleep is crucial for your overall well-being.

Creating a bedtime routine as a single mom and student may seem daunting, but it’s essential for maintaining balance and achieving a good night’s sleep. By setting the tone, cleansing and nourishing, unwinding and relaxing, preparing for tomorrow, and getting comfy, you’ll be on your way to a peaceful and tranquil bedtime routine. Remember to be kind to yourself and take things one step at a time.

I hope you enjoy reading that.
