Ten Ways to Disrupt Your Success

Ten Ways to Disrupt Your Success. Hey everyone, I hope you are well. In today’s post, I will be sharing ten ways to Disrupt your Success. I know you are confused by the title, but it’s not what you think. No, I am not advising you not to be successful. Instead, I will share some tips that you may be doing to prevent success from coming into your life. For some people who are failing to become successful, they are their enemies. We are all guilty of behaviours that hinder our success from time to time. If you commit the following blunders, you will be undermining your success.

Ten Ways to Disrupt Your Success

Forget your goals and visions or not have them at all.

What do you want to achieve in your business in the short and long term? What do you visualise enjoying after you have completed these goals – financial security, better lifestyles, a new home or car, a holiday? Set specific goals and the activities you will need to undertake to achieve these goals. If you do not set down particular goals or forget about them during your journey towards success, you sabotage your success.

Lose confidence in yourself

You have the goals, but most importantly, you will need the confidence to do it!

Lack of knowledge or stop Learning.

You do not need to go back to college to learn physics. There are now various channels through which you can understand. What you need to succeed personally or financially is not known in a university degree! Search for personal and financial development training programs, and equip yourself with the knowledge and tools you will need to become successful. Successful people never stop learning; they tend to have an insatiable desire for knowledge. Search the internet, find the best learning programs, read books – learn, discover and learn. For example, if you are setting up an e-commerce store, you may wish to look at these mobile eCommerce statistics to see if you can use any of these to your advantage when you get up and running. Investing a little in educating yourself will help you achieve your goals.

Think that you can become successful without any investment

This is a common reason why people fail to become successful. Everyone wants something for nothing! If it is something that will make you a millionaire, you must be prepared to invest some money and effort into it. No genuine long-term business can thrive without initial capital outlay and consistent investment, whether they are an on- or off-line business. You can start and run some legitimate companies with minimal capital outlay, but they still need some money to grow. Being cheap is not recommended, and it will not get you anywhere near your goals of becoming wealthy and successful.

Fear of failure

This toxic failing keeps many people away from their dreams of becoming successful. I like the quote, “Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure”. If you face a temporary setback on your quest for success, learn from it, pick yourself up and soldier on towards your dreams. “Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two surest stepping stones to success”.

Procrastination

Yet another nasty one! Taking action TODAY is the foundational key to all success. You are missing chances to be the best you can be, make money, and be successful by procrastinating. Get rid of all the bad habits that waste your time, break down your tasks into small manageable bits, and visualise the result of your project – do all you can to fight this deadly habit that keeps you away from your goals.

Lack of focus

You can have laid out goals for the success you want to achieve, but if you do not have focus, you will soon sabotage your success. There are a lot of ‘business opportunities that will arrive in your inbox daily – most of which are scams, no matter how genuine and promising they sound. When starting your online business, you can quickly become overloaded with information. Sometimes, information overload can stop you from taking action! The trick is to be focused. Have a list of your things to do every day. Every day, do something towards building your business.

Be easily discouraged

This is a common one. Your family or friends may not believe that you will succeed. Do not let this discourage you. It would be best if you had a good network of positive people who can support and encourage you as you work towards your success. People will say discouraging words, and sad things will happen around you, but only you can let that get to your mind and affect you.

Dislike constant change

To be successful, you must constantly improve yourself, your business, and your products. This is even more critical if an online business, i.e. internet, is very dynamic. Stay on top of recent developments and continually learn new ways of running and growing your business.

Lack of dedication

This is a vital one. If you want something badly enough, it will be yours. Many fail because they do not have the innate desire to become successful.

In conclusion, I will share these quotes on success: “Success isn’t a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire”. “What is Success? I think it is a mixture of having a flair for what you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose”. “A successful man can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him”. “Flaming enthusiasm, backed up by horse sense and persistence, is the quality that most frequently makes for success”.

Get it, and be successful!

I hope you enjoyed that.

You did this very clever! Usually it’s how NOT to do xyz so this definitely caught my eye and is a neat way to grab the reader’s attention! I am so distracted lately…so bad I actually forgot to cook my shrimp cocktail the other night and ate 3 (nasty, slimy, weird-tasting pieces) before realizing I was eating them raw! Time to slow down and FOCUS!

I’ve gone through some of these before and it was hard to get back onto track, and I know others who have gone through the same as well! This is a wonderful post, thanks for writing this up.

Great post! It’s important we lookout for these things so we can make sure to stay on topic with our goals. It’s much too easy to forget where we want to be.

This is a substantial list and I will admit I have committed most of those, but my greatest pitfall has always been that I WAS so easily discouraged by others. That has cost me so much. It is a good reminder of what not to do, but in a way it is comforting to hear that it has happened to others too. Awareness is key. Thank you for sharing.

Yes! I love this! I am a social media marketing coach and the biggest hurdles that I have to overcome with most small business owners is the idea of investing and learning. SO many come to me searching for the secret to success, but without spending anything (time or money). It’s just not going to happen… If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it. Right?

Great list! I’ve always dealt with fear of failure. Trying out something new, and then suddenly thoughts of failing consume me. Lately I like to just go for it! Feels great, and I leave those negative thoughts behind!

Procrastination is my biggest problem! I always tell myself that I have more time than I do and I end up putting important things off until the last second. I’ve been trying to be conscious of it and work on it proactively! It’s definitely helped to make life easier when I’ve followed through on just getting something done right away instead of saving it for later.

I desperately needed this today! I have been attacking myself for a few days and it has been affecting my blogging, my parenting, and my wife-ing! Thank you so much for sharing and getting me back into clear head space!

These are all so accurate and I’ve experienced most of them myself personally at one time or another. Lack of motivation or procrastination are the biggest. I’ve been really pushing myself even on days I don’t want to be productive.
