The Two Most Important Things In Life. Hey everyone, I hope you are well. In today’s post, I want to share the two most essential things in life. We are in March, baby!! March is the start of British Summertime (the clock goes backwards), International Women’s Day, Mother’s Day, and International Happiness Day. The sun is out in Scotland, and the sky is clear blue. Just beautiful. I have a feeling this month will be a good one. The world is becoming obsessed with money and all things material. From the size of your house, the type of car and even where you travel on your holidays, some people try to go one better do their friends and family.
For me, these people are pretty sad.
The Two Most Important Things In Life
Happiness And Health
I have a friend like the people above, always thinking of money and still talking about money. How to earn it, how to spend it etc. He is part of a lottery syndicate, and there are about fifty people in this syndicate. When he goes out on a Saturday evening, he always takes paper with the numbers and a little pen. At around nine o’clock, he phones his girlfriend and tells her the numbers for that particular night. He then spends around twenty minutes checking the numbers and then re-checking to see if he has any winning lines.
He returns from the toilet area and is asked by other group members how much he has won/lost. And he has yet to have any significant win to this point, which does not deter him; however, he will start a debate for the next hour, asking different people how they would spend their winnings if they ever won the lottery.
These are two things that money can not buy. Several years ago, my father became very ill. He had to spend around five months in hospital, only fifty-seven. Despite trying my hardest to think and stay positive, I feared the worst. I remember thinking that if I could give those doctors everything I own in the world, it would still not help him.
Happiness is the same; at times, I have had lots of cash in my back pocket; however, I have been quite depressed.
At other times I have had no money and have been extremely happy.
I believe this Pandemic is a wake-up call to everyone about how important our health and happiness are. We really shouldn’t take life for granted. Watch out for more healthy posts throughout March. Please let me know if you have any Health Topics you want me to cover.
I hope you enjoyed that.
Indeed, health and happiness are important in life. Wealth is fleeting without good health.
Health and happiness are oh so important in life.
Health and happiness are so important for everyone.
so very true and well said too
I completely agree with this. This pandemic really has brought to light whats truly important in life.
Absolutely agree with you on this!
As an adult, I have learned that happiness is very important. I have also learned that I create my own happiness. Great post!
That’s right! Happiness is what everyone needs in life. It’s an essential part of life so if you’re not happy then you won’t achieve a good life.
So true. And this has been confirmed to me over and over again this past year. One thing the global pandemic did was slow life down for me a bit. And, I was able to really see and enjoy the things that truly mattered and brought me happiness. Isn’t it funny how life does that LOL.
Sonia, I completely agree with you. This pandemic has been an eye-opener for many when it comes to having and maintaining good health and being humble and happy appreciating our loved ones and the simplest things in life – like being able to breathe. Health & Happiness is definitely wealth!
I also agree with you. Happiness and health are very important. What is life without happiness!
