Why did I Become A Lifestyle Blogger? Hello guys, I hope you are well. In today’s post, I will share a self-reflection on why I became a lifestyle blogger. I wrote about How Blogging Changed My Life recently. If you have not checked it out, please read it, as it’s good. There are many reasons why I became a lifestyle blogger. I started blogging because I wanted to journal my new life as a single mother. I had so many stories to share and wanted to share them with the world. However, I realised that many single mothers like me struggle to live their everyday lives. In this case, I wanted to offer support through my blog and show that being a single mother is not bad. You can still do that.
Why Did I Become A Lifestyle Blogger?
Choosing a niche was not easy.
I considered selecting a ‘personal’ niche and a ‘motivational speaker’ type of niche. But those niches were particular, and I wanted something fun, bright and colourful – pretty much my personality.
So I choose ‘Lifestyle’.
Lifestyle creates a space that gives you a wide range of topics to discuss daily. It also gives you the freedom to be as creative as you want.
Creating content that is engaging within your community can be challenging. However, I made it easier for myself as I shared topics based on my reality. I also realised that there was a lot I had to learn, and I think having the will to succeed in helping other women or young people has motivated me to stay focused.
Skills
I love Writing
From a young age, I have always wanted to be a writer. I had a dream of becoming an author and people buying my books at the bookshop. I kept a journal when I was a teenager, and I loved it because it helped me through any issues. As a blogger, I can share my stories with the world and hopefully inspire others.
Writing skills
Well, not every blogger has a degree in communications. So I have also found that it helps me improve my writing skills, spelling, and grammar. I have a feeling I will become a Best-Selling Author shortly.
Research skills
Before I write a post, I will always do some research. Boy, I use many research methods—including the internet, books, tv shows, etc. Sometimes, I take a walk, see something and ask myself how I am going to it to a blog post. Crazy, right?
Creativity skills
My niche is Lifestyle, which is perfect because although I speak a lot about being a single parent, I can enhance my creativity. Lifestyle opens up a lot more opportunities for you to play around with. You have the freedom to do whatever you want to do.
Communication Skills
Writing has always been my preferred form of communication. I like to send emails, text messages, or chat, other than calls or FaceTime. I think this because I am deaf and have difficulties understanding different accents and tones of voice. Communicating with other bloggers has helped improve my socialising skills with people online and offline.
Just like anything in life, Blogging has its ups and downs. I am pleased to be part of a wide range of communities where I can grow and use my platform to help improve the world.
If you are a blogger, share why you started in the comment section.
I hope you enjoyed that.
